LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Thousands of pages have been torn out of the Arkansas rule book.
Governor Asa Hutchinson announced Wednesday afternoon that with the help of state lawmakers, 800 outdated rules and regulations have been repealed.
Act 781 reduced 25 percent of those rules and regulations for all state agencies. Hutchinson said this will ease the “red tape” for individuals and businesses.
“In previous years, rules would be passed and sometimes it would not even be filed at the Secretary of State’s Office. Sometimes it would be outdated or new rules passed, but the previous ones would not even be repealed,” said Gov. Hutchinson.
The Governor went on to say that this review will now happen every four years.
